This  is an old school ranch, settled in the 1850's by the Christoph & Elizabeth Spangenberg family from Bavaria, then owned  by  Susan Spangenberg's daughter, (Otillie Aldophina) and her husband Clifford Clay Calhoun until 1980, when it was acquired by the current family.  This land is  rich with character,  cool old structures, wood fences,  and well preserved  hand-stacked stone  walls found throughout the ranch. Mature trees and native grasses cover the vast landscape, creating  habitat for the abundant wildlife.

Texas live oak, elm, redbud and persimmon are just a few examples of the lush vegetation found on the ranch. Wildlife including whitetail deer, turkey, dove and quail abound. A historic 1860s-era home and 1850s “dogtrot” have  potential sitting adjacent Carpers Creek. which flows to the Blanco River a short distance away.

One windmill near the log home, two water wells and large storage pila at the 1929 era main ranch  home, with electricity  located at various areas inside and around the perimeter of the ranch.

Pedernales Electric Cooperative; phone company is GVTC.

Approximately 10 miles southeast of Blanco, 18 miles to Wimberley, and approximately 40 miles to Austin. All properties are shown by appointment only.
